Prospectus for “Art of our Park Exhibit”

Benefit for Hovey Pond Botanical Gardens

Where & When

Exhibit will held June 12 & 13, 2010  on the walls outside of the buttondown gallery which is in “The Shirt Factory.” ( 71 Lawrence Street, Glens Falls, NY).   There will be a Shirt Factory open house in conjunction with the LARAC arts & crafts festival.

Media

 All media will be accepted for review.  Painting, Drawing, Textiles, Sculpture, Photography.   One to two pieces per person. No artist’s fees.

Theme

 The theme is  about gardens, specifically about the Hovey Pond Garden which is on Lafayette Road Queensbury, NY

Deadline

Work should be delivered to  buttondown gallery on Thursday June 10 with the entry form.  Please have work framed and ready to hang.

June 17,  at buttondown gallery

Sales

30% of price will go to Friends of Hovey’s Pond which is a non profit group that maintains the botanical gardens at Hovey Pond Park

bjsartworks Framing Gallery ( second floor Shirt Factory) will give a 20% discount for framing works for the exhibit.

There will be a Paint out at Hovey Pond sponsored by the Adirondack Pastel Society on June 5 ( rain date June 6). We would love anyone to join us.

We are hoping to make this an annual event.  We want to encourage people to visit the park and hope that the park’s beauty encourages people to express their creativity.
